Recovery Therapy: Glossco’s new treatment for restoring damaged hair in four steps

Changing colour, trying a different finish, going back to highlights. We like having options. But when hair loses strength, feels rough and starts to break, it is time to give it some attention.

Introducing Recovery Therapy, Glossco Professional’s new intensive professional treatment to restore damaged hair in four steps. A protocol that combines structural reinforcement, plant proteins and protection for the hair’s surface to improve strength, elasticity and shine.

Because a great result starts with the hair fibre we work with. And yes, care is part of the look too.

What is Recovery Therapy, and which hair types is it for?

Recovery Therapy is a professional recovery treatment designed for hair weakened by chemical, thermal and mechanical processes: colouring, bleaching, heat styling or wear and tear during styling.

It is particularly suitable when you notice signs such as:

  • Loss of strength and elasticity.
  • Fragility and a tendency to break.
  • Porosity, roughness and difficulty detangling.
  • A dull appearance and lack of softness.

The protocol addresses different aspects of hair damage, from reinforcing the fibre to protecting its surface and enhancing the final finish. Your hair professional assesses the condition of your hair and tailors their recommendation to its needs.

Softness, yes. But strength too

We love hair that feels soft to the touch. But how it feels is only part of the story.

A weakened fibre also needs improved strength, flexibility and manageability. That is why Recovery Therapy combines conditioning with technologies designed to reinforce hair and reduce friction and breakage.

The aim is to create a better-cared-for, more manageable foundation for your chosen finish: straight hair, waves, definition or natural movement. Creativity takes many forms; they all benefit from well-cared-for hair.

The technology behind the treatment

Recovery Therapy incorporates two complementary technologies throughout its four steps.

Botanical Bonding Complex

Botanical Bonding Complex is a plant-derived complex that helps reinforce the hair fibre’s structural bonds, improve its cohesion and protect the cuticle. It also supports easier styling and manageability.

Hydrolyzed Plant Proteins

Hydrolyzed Plant Proteins is a system of hydrolysed plant proteins that helps reinforce and protect hair. Its components work at different levels of the fibre to help improve elasticity and condition its surface.

The final step incorporates ProShine, a plant-derived active ingredient that forms a coating on the hair and promotes more uniform light reflection. The intended result: a smoother, shinier, more luminous finish.

The four steps of Recovery Therapy

Glossco Professional Recovery Therapy Step 01 Intense Repair Treatment
Step 1 · Intensive repair treatment

1. Intense Repair Treatment: the starting point

The protocol begins with an intensive treatment that helps reinforce the structure of weakened hair and improve its strength, cohesion and elasticity.

Apply to damp hair from mid-lengths to ends, focusing on the most sensitised areas. Leave on for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Yes, the treatment comes before the shampoo here. There is a reason for the order.

2. Strengthening Shampoo: cleansing and reinforcement

The strengthening shampoo cleanses the hair and scalp while continuing to deliver Botanical Bonding Complex and hydrolysed plant proteins.

Apply to wet hair, work into a lather and rinse. The protocol calls for two washes before moving on to the mask.

Step 3 · Intensive mask

3. Intensive Mask: intensive conditioning

The mask completes the recovery phase, with particular attention to damaged mid-lengths and ends. It helps reduce roughness and improve softness, flexibility and slip.

After the second wash, remove excess water with a towel. Distribute the mask from mid-lengths to ends, leave on for 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Step 4 · Protective leave-in treatment

4. Protective Leave-In: protection and shine

The leave-in treatment completes the protocol. It combines the two previous technologies with ProShine to reduce friction during styling, improve control and enhance shine without weighing hair down.

Apply a small amount to mid-lengths and ends after removing excess water. Do not rinse. Then dry the hair and use your usual styling products.

From the salon to everyday care

For the most damaged or sensitised hair, the full protocol is recommended once a month. Protective Leave-In can also be used at home to extend protection and maintain softness and shine between salon services.

Everyday care still matters: limiting excessive heat and avoiding rough handling helps reduce damage, as explained by the American Academy of Dermatology.
